Beekeepers use various types of protective gear to ensure their safety while working with bees. The essential types of beekeeping protective gear include:

• Veils: made of fine nylon mesh and depending on preference may or may not include a hat. Can have cotton or linen backs for added sun protection or be mesh the whole way around.
• Clothing and Bee Suits Beekeeping suits: Made of various materials such as cotton, nylon, or ventilated fabric. They typically include coveralls with long sleeves and pant legs attached to a hat/veil combo
• Gloves: Leather with a cotton gauntlet base that extends almost to the elbow.

It’s important for beekeepers to choose the right kids beekeeping gear based on their experience, the activity being done, and the temperament of the bees.
